WHO CAN ROW?

Our club includes men and women ranging in age from 18 to 85. Many of our members are in mid-life, and most have learned to row in recent years.

Beginners. To row, you should have the capacity for moderate exercise and reasonable swimming skills. Beginning rowing does not challenge one's physical capacities; it takes a considerable amount of time in boats to master the technique well enough to get a significant workout.

Novices, Intermediate and Experts. Intermediate and advanced coaching is available each season to members in good standing and for an additional fee. With approval from the board, intermediate and expert rowers may purchase a boathouse key for rowing at non-supervised rows. People with their own boats may rent a boat rack in the boathouse.

BECOME A MEMBER

To become a member, you must demonstrate rowing skill or take our Learn-to-Row class. Membership fees can be found on our MEMBERSHIP FORM. Family and reduced fee student memberships are available. Intermediate and advanced coached classes require a further monetary committment. To become a member, you must also sign a WAIVER FORM. See the PROGRAMS page for this information.

RENT A RACK

If you are a member in good standing of the Lansing Rowing Club and you have your own rowing shell, you may apply to rent a rack in the boathouse. See the MEMBERSHIP FORM for details.
